It is an interesting topic no doubt, and the numbers make you weep when you look at what you get for your money in Thailand as opposed to the UK.
It's all do-able, happens all the time, but Thailand is changing very quickly and that affordability will shrink over the coming years.
I looked at a couple of places 'over the hill' in Phuket around 1999 and could have bought a 2/3 bed bungalow for 900k baht, at a time when we were getting 75 or so to the pound, what would that be worth now? As I say, the place is changing quickly.
