I haven't even been looking for a place to be honest. I think I'll just ride the wave till December and then I'm heading away for several weeks. Will look for something on my return and hopefully there will be more available that time of year when 3 months of high season has passed.
Don't know if this would appeal to you or not but I got a call from my maid to say there is a house available not too far from where we WERE at. Its a 3 bed semi (I think) unfurnished with 2 lock up car spaces in front for 25k per month. When you are driving out towards Karon leaving Patong there is a Mini Mart Store on the left, drive up that steep hill and turn left at the top. The continue around the sort of circle until you see the first house (yellow ish)after the dirt mound on the left.
Very cheap and might get you out of a hole. The landlord is selling it so I'm sure he would do a short let on it which would give you time to look for a decent place. Just thought I'd let you know if you didn't know about it already.

I know the owner of that house, his name is Mike and he is the guy who also has 3 units in Beverly Hills. He plays darts for Offshore so maybe Seft and Finlay may know him already. The house in question is pretty big and a good location. You call also use the facilites of the Sai Rougn Hotel next door.
