I took some advice from a Travel agent years ago and followed it.
In the event that you regularly travel the same route then choose an airline, join their frequent flyer programme and stick with them.
The opportunity to save a hundred quid from time to time is overtaken by the preferential service you receive in making reservations, airport lounges and upgrades.
