Koh Larn (Coral Island)

This time it is my turn to ask some newbie-like questions ...

I am going to Pattaya shortly and was thinking about taking one day and doing som'ing a bit different (in my book).
A day trip to one of the island came to mind so I did some searches and found that Koh Larn would be the most convenient (closest). I found about 15 threads where this island was mentioned, but not much information other than how to get there and the fact that the beaches are nicer than Pattaya.

Getting there.
I understand that I have two options. Ferry at 20 bath, runs every 2 hours or speedboat for 1,500 to 2,500 depending on size. I am not much for running things on schedule so the speed boat is much more up my alley.
It will likely only be 2 going (me and some BG), so is 1,500 realistic?
Is that for the day, or is it for a "shuttle" service?
Anyone having first hand experiences with the speedboat service?

Things to do?
I can handle laying on the beach for a couple of hours ... tops.
Any specific beach recommandations?
Any other suggestions ... Is snorkeling worthwhile there?
Might also try para sailing.

I took a look at Introduction to Koh Larn, (KohLarn.com) but it looks like the site is still under development.
