Seeing the messages and pictures of the snakes on the second page, it reminds me of a potentially life-threatening experience a few months ago in the UK.
We had been in the pub for a while, and were just about to head-off to somewhere else. As we walked out to the car, one of my mates notcied something sinister lurking on my car. We moved a little closer to check it out, but were not really sure what it was.
We phoned the local animal park to see if they had anything missing that day. We described what we had seen and they said that they would send somebody to capture it.
A short while later a truck arrived and out jumped the Keeper who was (I think) a German. We showed him what we had found, and he got dressed up in all sort of protective clothing. With a large net he captured the spe***en and put it into a box. Then, we asked what it was. He explained that it was a dangerous creature, especially to drunkards, and was found all over the world.
It was a 'vindscreen viper'.
