Hi there everybody I'm just heading back from my first Holiday in Phuket and I thought I'd post up about my accomodation experience whilst the internet is free here at the Singapore Airport.
I stayed didn't make reservations ahead of time. I walked into the C&N Hotel and got a room for 1100 baht per night for two nights. It was just as I read about on the forums here. More than adequate, Very "guest friendly", they take her card at the front desk for safety. Overall a positive experience.
Looking for the next 7 nights I stumbled luckily upon the PL Guesthouse.

It is located on the side street directly across from Christin's Massage, in front of the Montana Resort and Bali Hai massage, next to the Lamai Hotel. I paid 1000 baht per night b/c I was staying for a week. They were booking for 1200 baht per night. The dates being Nov.29th- dec.6th. I believe four floors of rooms with 6 room per floor. Good size (bigger than the one I had at C&N) room, air con. was so great I kept having to shut it off after 10 min. in the room! The cleanliness of the rooms was also Outstanding and I would notice walking by other rooms while the girl would be cleaning and OMG she would REALLY be cleaning, scrubing away with her whole arsenal of products next to her. I always took scalding hot showers and the water pressure was great, cable TV, private safes for each room are located downstairs. They have internet access downstairs as well(not sure how good the signal is in the rooms) and even a laptop down there that is free for use any time you want. I didn't take my computer and it was great having it down there, it's even loaded with skype!
The location was excellent as it was a short 3 min walk up to the action on Bangla rd. or to the beach using soi Kepsap and yet the side street that it's on was Always very quiet. Also quite Importantly they are Absolutely Guest Friendly! No charges of any kind!
Overall good value it seemed to me, but what put it over the top was the service! I was previously unfamiliar with guesthouses so maybe they're all like this, but, the staff was so amazing they made me feel like of the family. There are one girl and one guy who trade off the day and night shifts downstairs and they both know every staying there and are on top of the wake up calls. I actually got Very Ill from something I ate and was throwing up all one day, the girl called me twice and then the guy called me once that night just to make sure I was doing okay and to see if I needed to go to the clinic. Let me just say that I stayed in a suite at the Dusit Thani in Bangkok for 3 weeks in Oct.(company dime) and didn't get that kind of personal service.
Okay I hope I didn't write so much that everyone stopped reading this, it's my first post (probably screams newbie) and I just wanna help contribute to all of the great info on here. I was helped Immensely by reading for hours on this forum before my trip, and I just wanted to give a real acurate report of a great place that I don't recall reading much about on here.
