Just arrived back from BKK and yes I have the blues.
Anyway I stayed at a brand new hotel on Suk Soi 8. It was fantastic. It is called "Adelphi suites". It is a sister hotel of the grand President, President Solitaire etc.
I have stayed in BKK many, many times and I found this place the best value for money for the following reasons:

1 minute from Lolitas
Huge room with large fridge and Kitchenette
Biggest shower I have ever seen. Fits 3 / 4 people no problem.
42" flat screen Samsung tv on the wall, opposite the bed
cd and dvd player
huge bed
very, very guest friendly - no fees, no limits on numbers
great rates -
2699 baht per night incl service, tax, breakfast, internet in room
30 sq mtere of living space
lovely pool
great south American restaurant with lots of bbq steaks- not expensive
they will service your room any time of the day
