Yeah, that was the point I was making, there seems to be a lot more couples/families whereas in the past (to me anyway) it seemed to be more guys out in the bars at night.
So does this bode well for the future for the bar owners? or is it something that Patong (bars) will have to adapt to? If that is the case then surely it would signal a reduction in the girlie element of Patong. Not necessarily a bad thing if the change is business is catered to I suppose.
Kind of ties into the threads I was just reading about the big name dj's coming over...just cannot see that working in Patong while there is a bias towards girlie entertainment...you need punters booking their trips knowing there are dj's regularly in town providing that sort of night out. Can't say I'd really like to see Patong go that way myself, not in terms of the music as imo it's dreadful currently and needs a kick up the a**e, but the change in the type of visitors descending on the place for their 2 week binge of the year.
