Regarding the Endless Bootup, one trick is to re-boot and while the system is going through its startup routine bring up the Windoze Task Manager. You can do this with the three-fingered salute or, right click on the taskbar and choose Task Manager.
Go to the Processes tab, click on CPU until the processes are ranked from top consumer to lowest. Then watch the action. The offending program(s) cannot hide! That is, if your CPU is at 100% and it all belongs to one process you have a place to start.
The Task Manager is arguably the most useful applet included with Windoze. For instance, every so often I will glance at the list of running processes. Anything not recognize gets googled. Should tell you presently if you have a stowaway.
However, one ever-present, very hungry process is svchost.exe. Leave it be!
