That's the way I read it Elohes.
I spent 6 months in Phuket a few years ago,but got nervous when I looked at business prospects.I also missed SA alot.Things like different language,written and oral,and dealing with a totally different culture (Asian) from what we are used too,can all be a steep learning curve when you are there for an extended time.
But don't get me wrong,I'm not saying I wouldn't want to retire there (as you seem to be interested in) but I would probably split the year up between the two countries and would have to be financially comfortable..........so it was not viable for me at my current stage in life.
