Came back from Soi Sansabai today. Now the second time I have had a run in with the idiots down there charging to park. Was in to have lunch at one of the restraunts only to be to be told that, my mate and I would need to pay 20 baht each for the motorbikes. Motorbikes parked right in front of the reaturant to eat at. Asked the staff about it. No answer from them. So I told them I pay to park I will not order. Was not able to find the owner. So just wondering.

1. Do the owners of these businesses know they are probably loosing customers? I personally will never go back again and not recommend anyone to go there because of this.

2. What happens if you are staying at one of the hotels for lodging. Do u pay everytime? Won't be recommending to anyone to stay on that Soi if so.

3. Are the owners getting a cut on this 20baht?

I have seen this same greediness happen to places in Mexico. And guess what there is only so much gouging prices and greed that the tourists and locals will take. Very soon people look else where. Which I am guessing is starting to happen in Phuket. I have. Sad but true.

Is this only happening during the day?? I always park my bike in Sansabai when I venture down Bangla in the evening and have never paid a Baht. I wouldn't say paying 20 Baht would deter me from using the soi though, still loads cheaper than taxi there and back. Only 10 baht in Soi Sunset in the evenings.
