Don’t seem to be able to “Quote’
But to answer Nesloneone regarding…..
so was this code for "we have apppointed a black man as coach to appease the govt even though there are twenty better coaches available"

Nothing in South Africa is that simple.
Pieter de Villiers has come a long route as a coach. He worked with Nick Mallet when Mallet was the Springbok coach.
He has been the national coach at Under 19 and Under 21 levels and has won a WC with the Under 21’s in 2005
He was supposed to coach the ill fated Spears franchise in the Super 12.
But he has never been given the opportunity to coach one of the top provinces at either Super 12 / 14 or Currie Cup level.
Heyneke Meyer has had two stints at coaching the Bulls. In his first stint they managed to be the only team to end a Super 12 without recording one win. In his second they became the only SA team to win the Super 14…
And there lies part of the problem, up to now the top Provinces have not chosen a non-white coach. There has been a glass ceiling as it were where they would rather choose an ex player and entrust him with the coaching job then give the position to a non-white coach.
Pieter de Villiers should have been a Super 12 / 14 coach years ago and then we would have been able to judge him against the likes of Meyer.
So now we just have to wait and see…….
