Plenty of good hotels in
Karon - much more of a family holiday area - away from us sex tourists etc
Ramada Karon Beach Resort, Phuket, Thailand
Phuket maps: map of Patong Beach, Kata, Karon and Kamala
Plus Patong is only 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk mafia if you can get a leave pass.
