I sort of agree with Marc, make money outside of Thailand, then by all means have a pin money business here, but very very few people get rich here, at best they break even and afford thier lifestyle, why play those odds when theres better odds elsewhere. The whole system is set up that the local landowners will keep raising rates at the absolute maximum threshold the business can bear, so they make the profit off your hard work.

At Jims age there is the very real issue of saving for later life, putting something away for pensions and things like that.. Boring yes but essential to have any kind of freedoms later.
