We are going back for a second time at Christmas.

We are staying at Jinnings Beach Guest house again, nice, clean and family owned but not really suited to guests. Hua Hin is not a large area and I would sort out your hotel before going, you may struggle if you go on chance. There are several hotels within walking distance of the bar/girl area and I saw people taken girls in and out without problem.

Most evening were spent around the night market which is nice and quite friendly. There are bars and eating places there too.

Hua Hin is not really a very big area and you can walk to most places in town, although there is loads of transport.

The beach is quite nice although there was a lot of sea weed on it when we were there. There are beachside bar/grills etc for food and drinks which is nice.

It took about 2 hours or so from BKK by car and cost us 2500 baht.

I would say it is a pretty relaxed sort of place where everything is available but not so much in your face. We felt very safe and was never looking over our shoulders or such. Very nice but limited if you like a really busy nightlife.
