Schmeen is right, England have not played well since the 2003 WC, and the odd occasions they have put it together is few and far between. I wonder if Ashton is the man to take England any further? They have the players, but it just isn't working.

If I could throw a name in, John Mitchell.
He was with Woodward for a while and knows English Rugby.
He must rate as the coach with the best ever win to loss ratio to ever get fired.
He has done a great job in Perth, building a formidable S14 team from scratch.
I know it is early days and Ashton deserves a bit of leeway after taking England to the WC Finals. But just a thought....
