The fact is it is a very safe procedure and worth every cent of the cost. It makes a hell of a difference to your life and I had no problems for 12 years.
The infection and the reression may well be linked to the surgery BUT, they may not, no one seems to have a definitive answer.

The point of thr thread is that once you have had it done, do no neglect your sight tests, if eyes start o regress then they can orrect it. You will at leas be awae of the regression, unlike me, nd be able to correct it.

If your doc says you are a candidate then ghet it done, you will never regret it.
