Besides food.... You can add in rentals, real estate, beers, spirits, and lady drinks prices, and pretty much anything else for sale or rent in Patong. Patong is so far out of whack compared to the rest of Thailand. Its called GREED.
Can agree with Nicke there. I prefer to go to Kathu or Phuket Town. Even with the cost of transportation and time. A completely different atmosphere.
