About accommodation: I just bought the plane ticket, not a package. I need to find a decent GF friendly hotel or guesthouse. I have seen lists on other threads, so no problems there, but the big question is- do I need to book in advance???

I have been looking at 1500 baht rooms (double, no joiner fee)-is that reasonable? I am really just looking for a room that wouldn’t scare off the girl, nothing special.

Also, I wanted to ask you guys where to go out down there? What are the good bars at the moment? Are there any bars that play rock music?

Does anyone know if the BJ bar is still open (read about it in another thread)? It sounds like a surreal experience!
