Dear oh dear me. How can people be so uninformed. I will let you in on a little secret.
When we have a development here in Aussie that is selling a little bit slowly off we toddle and find some celebrity with whom a deal is done with to "buy" one of the units. And low and behold it then manages to make it into the press ( via a well worded press release of course) and off the circus goes. The punters then start getting interested and the free publicity is invaluable snf sales start coming in. Does the celebrity actually buy one of the units? Most times not. Either they get it at a much reduced price and it is "on-sold" prior to completion to another punter or they do indeed buy the place but are paid for their endorsement of the property. Either way it isnt what it sounds like in the resultant publicity but who cares, I dont have a lot of respect for people who buy something just because some celebrity has bought one anyway.
One thing we would never do is do blindingly obvious and crude follow up stuff like joining a forum board and making first and only posts that continue to try and keep the hype up.
