being a sponsor, i still do marvel at the amount of sponsorship and senseless spending some of my gf's friends get
i think i keep my gf rather ok, but just dont spend money on senseless things
i send her 10k for apartment and incidentals. since i believe living in a better than average place, i feel that my gf does deserve that herself. so she lives in a brand new building that is relatively expensive for her are at 6k/mo
all in i would say i give about 15-20k/mo, which keeps money in her pocket
i also pay for her sons school, which is about 50k/yr and medical for both of them which is about 40k/yr

but her friends in village have cars, new houses they dont live in and not to sound bad, but with the jobs that i know some of these guys have, i just cant imagine how they are willing to part with all that money

again, to each's own, but i also feel you need to teach these girls some fiscal responsibility also
