I would say then your above sounds good..

BKK a bit gets some Thai city and shopping in..

Chiang Mai in transit, up to Luam Prabang and down Vang Vien and onto Vientiene (thats one direction heading south)..

From there get over to Siam Reap, possibly short plane to minimize southern Loas bad roads and connections into Cambo..

SR heading to PP.. Maybe Sihanook.. Then into patts for some mongering blow out..

If you have time diving or phuket is a plane flight away but personally I think even just that is 22 days easy..
