I thought the same Mr. Soupdragon.

Lead-Acid types are a different beast than lithium, or (as I'm more experienced with) Nickel-Cadmium battery's.

Part of normal maintenance with the "Nicad" battery, is performing a "deep cycle"...as described by ThaiKwanDo. (completed discharge and recharge)

Don't know much about these newfangled ECU's, but TKD says that they are now coupled with generators (oops dynamo's), and other car functions. (and he's in the biz)

As a side note: I heard a rumor that the B777 that landed short at Heathrow may have had electronic interference with his "electronic fuel control units". The rumor was, that HRM The Queen and entourage were passing nearby the approach area at that time. Possible electronic jamming, security stuff, etc.
