I agree that its a tragedy, but is their response so much worse than the response in the USA to Katrina? It took them 5 days to mobilise extra troops in an effort to speed up the relief process, and many other issues were highlighted afterwards.
In New Orleans, the people resorted to looting to get food and water. Additional medical help etc didn't start arriving in New Orleans until 5 or 6 days after that tragedy.
Yes, I am sure the people in power are making mistakes, the same as FEMA did with Katrina. What I am trying to say is:- don't think that if a civilian, democratically elected government had been in power there, that the response would have been any different.
