Silom is a nice area with a lot of good restaurants, however, I hear mixed statements as to whether the hotels are guest friendly.
The area is my prefer ed when I am not looking for P4P.
From the hotel district of Silom you are a 10-15 minute walk from Patong (50 baht taxi) and I am sure you can find ST room along with your ST companion.
Same-same for Nana or Soi Cowboy which is an 80-100 baht taxi ride from Silom or a short trip on BRT.
