Even in the cinema the Thai subs can be quite inaccurate. I guess its not always easy to provide a direct translation for slang or idioms, but occasionally the Thai subs have a totally different meaning from the English. The same thing happens with Thai dubbing. I remember watching The Mummy in English and not enjoying it very much. Later, i watched it on video with Thai dubbing and it felt almost like a different film, and it was much funnier.

ps. Copy DVDs have terrible Thai subs. Almost total nonsense. I sometimes wonder if the person who writes them is Thai, its that bad.
