Went to the tiger temple last month as I was staying in Kanchanburi. Actually drove out there about 1pm and was confronted with hordes of tourists so I decided not to enter. There was a sign outside saying something about tiger cubs being fed or woken up at 10.30 so I decided to come back the next day. This proved to be a very good decision. The next day I got there early before the Bangkok brigade and as was able to see the younger tigers and cubs in their pens. The young Thai keepers then went about waking the Tigers and cubs and the few tourist who were there were able to interact with them. During this time older and a larger tigers were brought down to the pen area for patting and photos. All the while more and more tourists arrived. Just before 1pm I think they walked the largest tigers with groups of tourist down to the canyon area which I did and got a photo walking with one of the big tigers. By this time there where a lot of tourists, it was stinking hot and very bright with no shade so I decided to go as we'd had about 4 hours with the tigers already . On the way out more people were arriving. It Was a highlight for myself and my TGF and definitely better to get there early if possible.
