Entertainment and site seeing is the main priorities, a mix of both

I fancy Krabi due to the attractions such as Hot waterfalls, Ao Nang Beach, Tiger Cave temples...but really wish I had more time for Chiang Mai to visit the Mae Sa Elephant Camp, do you think I could go there for a couple of days?
Thai Airways does fly direct from Chiang Mai to Phuket but only in that direction and is more expensive. In the other direction you need a stopover at Bangkok airport. You effectively lose a day each way.

Not joking, when do you fly? Let's see how far we can figure this one out.

No problem. Remember with the budget airlines you book legs, you cannot book Krabi - Chiang Mai in one booking you have to book Krabi - Bangkok and then Bangkok Chiang Mai. The order of visit of the various places can matter a lot, since the budget airlines have frequent specials to certain destinations, keep that in mind.
