The bar u are talking about is called "The Beach Bar" it is located as u said across from the beach , right down the sth end of the beach rd of Patong, at end of bangla(beach end) turn left - its all the way to the end where road bends to the left to go to kata/karon beaches. its just around corner 1st bar there, Pete (from newcastle aust. where iam from)-turns out i used to play footy against his brother -"small world" ) is a good bloke & staff are great, girls still remembered me from last years visit when i was there in march , cheap beer, good food, & etc,
if not at aussie bar , normally start nite off there b4 heading to bangla.

I agree with Timios "aussie bar" is good place to start the night for watching sport & a bit of food , before heading off to MTB & Dingo's & further.

i also love hanging around at Beach Bar!
imho it's the best place off of bangla
