I just used the search function as I have a few questions about Cathay. I choose to post in this thread as the title is more general to Cathay as I not see answers to my questions.

My Thai flight JFK-BKK was canceled and I re-booked through LAX. It is not yet confirmed via email. I have thought a little about it and really am having second thoughts about this arrangement for the following reasons:

1. I have to fly across the country before I get on a 17 hour flight.
2. Flight across the country will be on some United plane and probably economy(ouch my legs!)
3. I get into BKK on Monday morning rather than Sunday night therefore eliminating my only night in BKK.
4. It is a fecking lot of flying.

I like the Cathay Schedule from Boston(from what I recall). My questions are:

1 How much leg room does economy have? It is very important to me.
2. How does the seat selection process go(upon booking)?

Thanks in advance!
