Well i have managed to survived here as most other people have...i don't see a mass exodus of expats/long stayers. Unless you know more about the crime stats here than I do. I find it more laid back and friendly than living in Patong/Kata/Karon as I did before.
Dog poisonings happen everywhere, it's not restricted to Rawai/NH, and not likely to deter me from living somewhere unless you have a penchant for dog food that is
