Thanks for this thread, it has been very useful for a recent trip to KL. Based on the info I tried to book a room in the Concorde, but they were full at the time. When I called the Cabana Inn for a reservation, they were surprised, apparently they have walk-in customers only. Cabana Inn was very quiet during my visit Mid June.
Might be useful to know that Shangri-La, The Concorde, Cabana Inn are all close to the same intersection in KL, with Hard Rock and the Beach Club very close. The less you pay, the closer you are to the Beach Club. There are quite a few other bars at the same road as the Beach Club, but none have the same atmosphere. During my stay the Beach Club was packed, many Philippina's at that time. Apparently the ladies don't fancy the trip back to the suburbs late at night, closing time their prices drop to more or less what you have left in your wallet for LT. Admittedly I was very late, as I was trying to watch the German team lose their match at the recent EC. Of course the Germans won that one.
Transport is as described by LOS. Alternatively you can get a fixed price taxi from the airport for RM61.50. Cabana Inn can book a taxi to the airport for RM90, again fixed price.
