Yes Captain, sure you can get alcohol,restaurants from around the world, great infrastructure,and Russian ******s.I have been there a few times as well.But I said, se*ually repressed,and by that I mean in spite of the advances they have made to get closer to the western way of live they are still a long way off. If you are caught with a ****** by the Dubai secret police you are in BIG trouble.Of course the Arabs are the worlds biggest hypocrites in that they preach no alcohol ("haram"- forbidden) no pork products etc but they abuse the qurans teachings all the time.
You cannot date in the way we do in the west. A female will have a chaperone at all times until marriage which is usually arranged and dont try to tell me that its se*ually liberated.Everthing is done in secrecy to which I made my original statement,and stand by it. I do agree with you that Dubai,along with Abu Dhabi are the only MEastern cities I could consider living in.BTW do you base your opinion on one visit 4 years ago,if so you need to go again.
