Sometimes people must go full circle in life to come back to exactly the same spot and realise that it is there that they are most content. Set in contemporary country Thailand, it is a story of Pan (Suppakorn Kitsuwan), a handsome but naïve young man who loves to sing. He meets Sadaw (Siriyakorn Pukkavesa), the love of his life, at a local temple fair. After months of pursuing her (with much interference from her father) they are married and are happy. But when Sadaw is five months pregnant, Pan is drafted into the army. While in boot camp, he attends a singing contest, where two lucky winners get to join a famous band from Bangkok. Pan wins second place and decides to run away from the army to join the band and pursue his dreams of singing stardom. Mon-rak means magic love, or romance. This film is director Pen-ek Ratanaruang's third feature film, following Fun Bar Karaoke and also stars Ampol Ratanawong. (In Thai, English subtitles)
