Joiner Fees
I find intersting this. When I was in Patong last August a lot of the hotels wanted a joiner fee. I think that many BMs found it hard to believe when I put it on the forum but I did not make any mistakes, lots of the places I checked out were charging for guests'
Now, it looks like the majority are not looking to charge extra. I am thinking that the joiner fee is charged according to how busy they are. At quiet times such as now they just want your business, but if you find yourself looking for a place when they only have a couple of rooms left, it is a way of squeezing you for a bit more money.
Also, when there are a lot of families in town, I wonder if they want the party people around? There does not seem to be any definitive list of the places that do and do not charge. Maybe we could start one?
