Well after this weekends matches I can't see past Wales for the six nations title now.
Yesterdays games were chalk and cheese.I fell asleep during Scotland v Italy it was that bad.Scotland won 18 -10 but who cares, they were both abysmal.
France v Wales has been the game of the tournement so far.The way France began looked like the France of old ,flair imagination and everything good.Poor Wales looked down and out after just 12mins and were lucky to be only 15 -6 down at half time. But what a turnaround by Wales. They outmuscled the French forwards ,competed and deserved a wonderful win in spite of fierce French attacks in the last 10mins.If I were Welsh, I would be very proud of what is becoming a very good team Final score for those in LOS who missed it France 18 Wales 24
Now todays game, Ireland v England had plenty of errors, especially the SA ref who disllowed a good try by England for supposed offside.Never in a month of Sundays but its was wiped out. Ireland had the better of the first half and England were making lots of silly mistakes and giving away penalties. The 2nd half was a reasonable display by England forwards but the final pass or touch went astray.Very frustrating for an England fan but to be honest the Irish deserved the win, especially with a beautifully worked try from Brian O'Driscoll. That man is a superb player.Overall though I fancy Wales will have the edge over Ireland ,going by this weekends displays, as they beat a far better side in France than a pretty poor England one. The English have a lot to do to get it right for 2007.Have the Welsh and Irish peaked too soon.I wonder, the Irish forwards are getting to the veteran stage now with one or two exceptions.Oh the Ireland score 19 -13.
