They have an 80 hour course for (cover your eyes if the money offends you) $2500 USD
I was suprised to find the health requirements for working on an offshore rig were so intense. From what I read I would most likely fail since they include an evaluation of the spine, as I have 2 herniated discs.
It does sound like a fun job though, I'd take that kind of overall cut in pay for more time off.
