I never had any problems with the taxidrivers from the airport, I have even passed the limosineservice and been taking a ordinary taxi to Patong. I think only if you look unsecoure about what kind of transport you need, then they try to hunt you down and take you to all kind of places. Also with the limosineservice things have worked out great for me. Sometimes they have been asking if I want to stop somewhere, but I allways say that Im tired and want to go stright to the hotel. After that no more questions, and they have allways carried my suitcase to the reception.
