I can only repeat what BB has said, At first I was not really looking forward to pattaya but my friend really wanted to go, So we decided to give it a go for a week or so, But even on the plane I was trying to talk him into staying for about 3days and then heading back to patong for the other 4/5days, It was more to do with all the bad reviews I read on the place, About how it was so dirty and sleazy, And how there was a lot of old men walkng around with under age girls, And that put me right off before I even got there.
Honestly though, Nothing could have been further from the truth, Yes the place was a bit dirty but not dirtier than any of the other places I had been too, With the exception of the beach which I didnt even bother going near, But I am not really a beach kind of person, So that didnt bother me either way.
Onto the point about the place being sleazy, Well I dont think it was as bad as some people make it out to be, I think due to the high number of girls working there and the amount of bars, go-go's and disco's, There is a lot more competition for the girls and therefore they tend to go that little bit further in trying to get there man for the night, ie: Showing a little bit more flesh than you would see in patong
And I found they dont mess about either, They get straight to the point aswell, Which would be a good thing for someone who was shy

And the main thing that was bothering me before I went there was the under age thing, And thankfully I did not see anything like that at all, Which was great because that sort of shit would turn me right off!!
Anyway as I said before I got there I was thinking of cutting my stay there short and going back to patong, But after I got there I didnt want to leave, I thought the place was fu*king brilliant and on my next tour which wont be until the end of December
I am planning on staying in patong for 16days and then going back there for 2wks before I go home.
Dont get me wrong I still love phuket and patong in particular, Especially because of all the BMs I have met up with there who have mostly been great guys, And it is still No1 for me because of that but if your looking for a place to mix up your holiday instead of staying in the same place (Which is a must for me), Pattaya is a great alternative and I would highly recommend it
