I still wonder how representative of BGs this general rate would be? The above is an across the board rate – the rate for BGs must be higher as the above figure includes women in monogamous/lower risk relationships, who are less likely to be infected than a BG…It is BG figure that is of importance to the BMs - not a figure that is representative of a wider population to which BMs have no sexual contact.
Has anyone seen a BG infection percentage?
Even if 2.5% - that could be considered high…Excuse me for playing around with numbers, but 2.5% is one-in-forty. Supposing the average BM sleeps with 20 BGs (just a guess - maybe way off!) then half of us has sleept with someone with HIV.
If the infection rate is 2.9%, then the majority of BMs have slept with someone with HIV! (it the average BM sleeps with 20 BGs )
The importance of tarping up becomes apparent!
Makes me wonder what risk we are prepared to take with such things…I’ll ask that in POLLS & SURVEYS….
