You should never give your passport when renting a motorbike, You should just give them a photocopy!!
My mate was lucky over in spain 2yrs ago, Him and another one of my mates rented a jeep over there, And they were acting the bollox with another couple of lads in another jeep they had met over there, But they had a bad accident, The jeep flipped and threw them from it before going over a cliff, No Bullshit!!!
And they were very lucky to only have minor injuries but more importantly they still had there passports and got straight out of spain and back home before anyone realised what happened, If they had not had there passports they were fu*ked because they had no car licence (They rented the jeep on a bike licence) and no insurance, So they would of had to pay for the jeep to be replaced and if they couldnt pay it, Then they would be locked up until someone could pay it for them!!
Seriously thats just one story but you can bet your life on it that there's many more out there that didnt turn out so good, Never give your passport to anyone!!
