Or one great punch could take out Hatton and win the fight with a KO or a series of great punches could result in a TKO. To just give up doesn't seem like the right way to end an otherwise great career in the ring.

He is being compared to Sonny Liston and Roberto Duran(when he fought Leonard, but probably should have retired before that). I know he fought a great fight for 11 rounds, but just to give up doesn't seem right.

Which is not to take anything away from Hatton who clearly showed that he is a top-notch fighter and erased any doubts that some had expressed about his abilities. Perhaps it was his trainer who talked Tyszu into quitting because he didn't want to see him get hurt. But I think that it is the job of the fighter to fight, and the job of the ref to stop the fight if he thinks one of the fighters is unable to continue or in seriously greater danger than a pro is any time he steps into the ring. After all, it sometimes just takes that one lucky punch to win a fight, and there have been fights where fighters have been knocked down several times, and generally were getting their asses kicked, who won with one miracle punch in the last round.

Fighters are paid to fight twelve rounds, not eleven. If the situation were reversed and Hatton had been losing, what do you think the fans would have said if he threw in the towel after 11 rounds? Would you like to see your soccer team walk off the field when they are down two or three goals with 15 minutes left in the match? Because you probably can't come back to win is not a good enough reason to quit. I really don't think if it was Hatton, that he would have ever thrown in the towel. The only way they would have stopped him is by KO or TKO. Never by concession!

Trainer threw the towel in.......just heard on TV, Tzysu is splitting with his Trainer
