The only problem with Nok / Bangkok / 12go / etc airlines is they have the horrible wait room and exit desk... Once you 'check in' your trapped in the less than pleasant exit terminal while Thai (dragon / tiger) all have the much nicer wait rooms..
If you can acually get one of these elusive 499 seats then I guess its worth it, but if (like me) you end up paying closer to 2k for a discounter (bkk air has always been 1850 and nok has usually been 1200 + tax) I would rather drop another 500 for the freedom of walk in no timescale service... Plus forget about any help if you miss a budget flight. Thai will usually put on the next one, budgets forget it..
Though right now GF1 needs to do a BKK hop and so I will probably look for bargains (gentleman that I am)...
