A good idea indeed!
I'm always searching for titles I haven't read or seen, so this would be of great help. Anything from Homer to King.
Having a good book at hand is important, and crucial on any travel.

Books:
"Into thin air" by Jon Krakauer
A personal account of the Everest disaster in May 1996.

"Shogun" by James Clavell
Historical fiction set in 16th century Japan. A complex story of love, war, and political intrigue.
One of my all-time favourites.

"Ham on rye" and "Post office" by Charles Bukowski
Read 'em!

Movies (No blockbusting new releases):
"City of ghosts"
A con-man goes to Cambodia to collect his share in a scam, but...
I like it because it's somewhat different, and in a great setting.

"Brazil"
Terry Gilliam... I just watched it again, and it's still a brilliant movie.
