Very difficult, but it depends on what you need! I rent a house with 2 bedrooms, tv-dvdplayer for ....15.000 bath.
This of course is only for 2 months.... If you want a better price, you should look for houses rent to Thais, not tourists, and a bit further away from the beach.
My ex-girlfriend, had a nice bungalow, with 2 bedrooms, tiny living-room, near phuket-zoo.
She payed 4-5000 bath, I know , because I payed the rent!
