I think I'll make it a 6-monthly thing myself. I got the all clear a few weeks back but still have this recurrent sore throat and low-grade cold/flu symptoms - had them for a couple of years now, well before LOS but after Jamaica
The experience was not as bad as might have been feared. Although St Mary's GUM clinic (in an overgrown portacabin, turn-up-and-queue-for-days system) is pretty dismal, the clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital operates an appointment system, it's still a full day out, but at least you get to sit down and wait (take a book). The staff are quite professional and non-judgemental. The second urethral swab was a bit brutal - more like a biposy  As I gave the urine sample I thought, "there'll be blood in that" and sure enough there was  they shouldn't let female nurse do those swabs - no empathy

used to get checked after every trip but got fed up being told you caught this and that,now dont bother
