Yes, this can definitely be the case. Fifteen years ago, in Canada, I used to work for a man who was in his early-60's, when I was in my late-30s. On one occasion, on a business trip of his to Montreal, after work we ended up in one of the local Montreal bars. I discovered then that the young women would flock to him like a fly to fly paper. He was witty, articulate, and a load of laughs. At first I had thought it was because he was rich (as he was a multi-millionaire), but later I realized none of the newly encountered ladies could have possibly have known that. He just had the technique, the "gift of the gab", and he would become the life of any bar, when he showed up.
After that I always tried hard to go for a drink with him, not because he was my boss, but because I wanted to try and meet some of the lasses buzzing about him, as he could definitely draw the western stunners out of the woodwork.
