They are a good airline Steve. I have used them twice before LHR-Doha-Abu Dhabi. Until I used Etihad this year they were my favourite Middle East airline,and that includes Emirates.
As Gez has said,Doha is a nice modern but small airport with a good duty free shop and restaurant. Incidentally you can use English money there but will receive the change in Qatari rials.
