Good looks may make a difference, but looks are only one factor in a very complex "equation". Money is a big factor. One's attitude is a big factor. One's playfulness (part of the attitude) is a big factor. One's respect for Thai customs is a big factor (also part of the attitude). Various factor's on the lasses side (how much money she has, has she been "burned" in the past by a falang she was attracted to?, ... what her mood is on a particular evening, etc ..... ) are all factors.
If all else is equal, then when dealing with freelancers, I would say, yes, "good looks" do help. But note the big caveat about all else being equal. ... It seldom is.
As many will note in humorous and entertaining posts, it does indeed appear that a big wallet full of the local currency will make everyone a "handsome man".
