Many reasons.. Not least of which is 'western' finance ability...

The reasons do run a bit deeper than that tho.. There is a general perception that Thai guys butterfly more than farangs in a serious relationship (not so sure about that or the unserious relationships) and also that farangs are more likely to be happy to be involved in child rearing (true I would think) and also to continue to support a child if the relationship ends (which from the stories I see and hear is woefully lacking in Thai guys)..

One more factor is Hi-So 'well off' thais are a lot more likely to not be chasing farangs (tho in BKK and major cities even that is changing) its definately a segment of the less well off population looking for security and family financial support that the majority of Thai Girlfriends come from.. Of course there are no absolutes.
